This is an amazing service for people like me who are disabled and struggle with public transport. Thanks to dial a journey, I can take my mobility scooter to different places in my area rather than being stuck to my home town. The service is outstanding and drivers are – without exception – friendly, helpful and courteous at all times. It is a lifeline for me and I recommend it to everyone I meet!

“I use Dial-a-Journey to visit friends and family and go on excursions, especially in the summer.”

I live in Stirling and I’ve been a customer for 9 years now. I use it go into town shopping – my friend Kathleen helps me spend my money – and I also visit friends and family and go on excursions, especially in the summer. This year we’ve been to Largs, Troon, Oban, Anstruther and Inveraray and sometimes it’s the only way we can get out and about. We also used Dial-a-Journey so we could see Cliff Richard in concert, which was very good.

I was able to drive myself up until 4 years ago and I use the door-to-door service as a backup for when my wife isn’t able to take me about the place, or when the car is off the road. It’s a fantastic service as, unlike taxis who will only take you kerb-to-kerb, the drivers literally take you door-to door to make sure you safely arrive at your destination or settle back into your own home. I would say you really feel ‘as safe as houses’ with the people at Dial-A-Journey.

“I really like the sense of freedom they give me!”

I mainly use the Shopmobility service to go shopping and I sometimes use the door-to door service for socialising and going to special events. I also use this service for all my hospital appointments as the ambulance drivers are just not able to provide the same level of personalised service, or the level of care, which I’m now used to with Dial-A-Journey. I really like the sense of freedom they give me!
