We’re seeking new trustees – Help shape our service and make a difference
The Organisation
Since 1987, Dial-a-Journey has worked within the Forth Valley area to provide accessible passenger transport and related services to over 1100 registered services users (all of whom are unable to use conventional public transport for a number of different reasons0. Last year the service had 170 active service users who between them made over 40,000 passenger trips including schools transport for pupils with additional support needs.
Behind the scenes, a Board of up to 14 Trustees serve voluntarily as Directors giving support and direction to a team of over 30 paid staff whose role is to provide high quality and supportive passenger transport services throughout the year.
The Opportunities
Order of Malta Dial-a-Journey Trust is currently looking for new trustees to join our Board following a number of Trustees standing down after having served more than 10 years guiding and supporting a team of over 30 paid staff to deliver caring and compassionate passenger transport services.
We’re currently inviting applications for Trustees from people who have core skills and experience of Legal, Financial, Human Resource, Governance and marketing.
In addition, we’re keen to appoint those with “lived experience” of disability issues and who can speak for service users. These may come from service users themselves, their friends, families and carers and also organisations who provide services for those with mobility difficulties.
There is no closing date for applications. For an informal chat and a Trustee Recruitment pack, please contact our Chief Executive Duncan Hearsum on 01786 465355 or by email duncan@dial-a-journey.org
